| BMW X1 BMW’s X1 will go on sale in Europe starting October 24 after the model debuts at the Frankfurt auto show. The car is based on the 1 series but uses some components from the 3 series. It will be built in BMW's factory in Leipzig, Germany, where BMW builds the 1 series. The X1 will be latest edition to BMW's X range of SUVs and crossovers joining the X3, X5 and X6. It will be the smallest and least expensive model in BMW's utility-vehicle lineup priced between 27,200 euros and 41,500 euros in Germany. The X1 SUV is planned to go on sale in the United States starting in 2011. |
