The four-seat Up is the first model in Volkswagen's new entry-level lineup. It will go on sale in Europe in December and will be offered with an emergency-brake function to avoid collisions at speeds of less than 30 km/h (18 mph), technology that VW says is a first for the segment, along with an all-new three cylinder, 1.0-liter gasoline engine.
