First automotive job: I was a material control analyst at one of GM's old truck plants.
Proudest professional achievement: When I was appointed executive director of purchasing at our service parts organization, all of the key objectives were red. We were not meeting our cost reduction goals, our parts back orders to customers were too high, and our launch readiness was poor. It was clear to me that my team could not achieve these objectives alone. Success would be determined by how well we worked cross functionally with our business partners and our suppliers. We worked to build stronger relationships. The results started to come. My objectives were green when I left the position.
Current challenge at work: I have only been in the job two weeks. I am learning. I have responsibility for program management within manufacturing engineering — manufacturing launch readiness for programs and all vehicles globally. The biggest challenge is assuring that we have a flawless launch. That is why I have to deliver.
What you do to relax: I read magazines and books, just for fun, not to learn.
