LONDON – Bentley has created the new post of marketing and product director as the luxury brand gears up for a global sales push.
The company has hired Stefan Buescher, 43, a German national who previously worked as marketing communications manager for Porsche.
The new job was created by CEO Wolfgang Duerheimer, who joined Bentley from Porsche in February 2011.
"We're looking at significantly expanding sales across the world, including China, our fastest growing market," said a Bentley spokeswoman. "Our new CEO has been reviewing internal structures and key markets to ensure we're best placed to meet these challenges."
Earlier this year Bentley created the new post of regional director responsible for China.
Buescher will report to Bentley's board member for sales and marketing, Alasdair Stewart.
Volkswagen-owned Bentley is expected to reveal a concept previewing a new SUV at the Geneva auto show next week.
Last year, Bentley's global car sales increased 37 percent to 7,003, of which 1,839 were sold in China.
