BMW Financial Services this month added excess wear-and-tear coverage for lease customers to its arsenal of BMW-branded F&I products.

The idea is to encourage customer loyalty, said Shaun Bugbee, vice president of sales and marketing for BMW Group Financial Services.

"Loyalty is going to be a constant priority in our efforts this year," he said.

Along with the new lease-protection plan, BMW Financial Services offers BMW-branded extended-service contracts, GAP policies, tire-and-wheel protection, paintless dent repair, and windshield protection.

All are administered by third parties.
