Renault's global expansion plans will come under the spotlight when the automaker's Chief Operating Officer Carlos Tavares speaks at the Automotive News Europe Congress next month.

The French automaker is targeting Russia and China for growth to offset the industrywide slump in its French home market and the rest of Europe.

Renault and alliance partner Nissan are also deepening ties with their strategic partner Daimler, with both the Renault and Infiniti brands set to benefit from Mercedes' technology.

Tavares will speak about these and other topics at the Congress, which will be held in Monte Carlo June 20-21. This year's theme is "Building Resiliency in Turbulent Times — Managing the Unexpected in an Age of Complexity."

Among other scheduled speakers are PSA chief Philippe Varin, GM Europe CEO Karl-Friedrich Stracke, Porsche boss Matthias Mueller and Volvo Cars CEO Stefan Jacoby.

Ferrari Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo will be the keynote dinner speaker.
