Germany's ContiTech supplies seat material to GM's microvan venture

ContiTech AG, a division of the German supplier Continental AG, said it has started supplying interior trim material to SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., General Motors' microvan joint venture in China.

The plastic material, known as the Acella Eco Gree, is free of contact allergens. It is used as seating material in a new microvan developed by SAIC-GM-Wuling, said the German supplier, without providing further details.

The material is produced by ContiTech's plant in Changshu in east China's Jiangsu province.

The plant also supplies the Chinese joint ventures of Volkswagen, Ford Motor Co., PSA/Citroen-Peugeot, Fiat and also domestic Chinese carmakers.
