RENNES, France -- Citroen named Arnaud de Lamothe as its new marketing and communications director.
Lamothe is currently assistant director of the Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile joint venture.
The 45-year-old Frenchman starts his new job Nov. 1, replacing Xavier Duchemin, 46, who was shifted to sales director of Peugeot's operations in France in June.
Lamothe will be responsible for Citroen's communications and marketing strategy, which involves advertising campaigns, managing brand image and social media initiatives.
Lamothe joined Citroen in 1995 in Citroen's sales division for the French market. He was appointed to his first overseas position as director of Citroen's operations in Croatia in 2002 and in the Netherlands in 2005.
Lamothe became assistant director of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen in 2010.
Peugeot brand head
Lamothe's appointment is the second time this month that PSA/Peugeot-Citroen has called one of its top executives home from China.
On Sept. 3, the automaker said Maxime Picat, 38, would become the new head of the Peugeot brand, replacing Vincent Rambaud, who will leave the company for personal reasons, PSA said in a statement.
Picat starts Oct. 1, moving to Paris from China where he has been head of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen since 2011.
