DETROIT -- TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. says it has contracts to produce its electric parking brake and its electronic stability control system. The combined system will be launched in Europe and Asia in 2014, and later in North America. The two technologies eliminate the need for a separate electronic control unit, since the electronic parking brake can be controlled by the vehicle's electronic stability control unit.

TRW, of suburban Detroit, ranks No. 12 on the Automotive News Europe list of the top 100 global suppliers with worldwide parts sales to automakers of $14.67 billion in 2011. Europe accounted for 49 percent of that total.
