Bentley named veteran sales executive Bart Gerris as its regional director for Europe.

Gerris will spearhead what the brand says are ''significant'' plans to expand its network presence and sales in Europe next year.

A Dutch native, Gerris was previously chief operating officer for dealer group Porsche Holding's PGA operations in the Netherlands. Before that he worked for Toyota.

Gerris will be based at the brand's headquarters in Crewe, England. He will lead Europe sales and marketing activities starting January 1. He succeeds Guillaume Chabin.

Bart will lead Bentley's European sales expansion.

In the first 9 months, Bentley's European sales, excluding the UK, increased by 20 percent to 950 cars. In the UK, deliveries were up 9.6 percent to 854.
