Spain new car sales fell 9.6% in January

MADRID (Reuters) -- Spanish new-car sales dropped 9.6 percent to 49,671 in January, car manufacturers' association Anfac said.

The decline was lower than December's 13.4 percent fall thanks to a government subsidy scheme.

The drop contrasted with a 2.5 percent rise in sales in January 2012.
