Volkswagen AG's Puebla, Mexico, factory led all North American assembly plants in output in 2012, producing 605,508 units, up 19 percent.

Here are the rest of the top 10 assembly plants in North America for 2012, with their production totals: Toyota Georgetown, Ky., 462,080; Honda Marysville, Ohio, 439,646; Nissan Smyrna, Tenn., 411,150; Honda Alliston, Ontario, 409,949; Nissan Aguascalientes, Mexico, 383,800 (estimated); GM Oshawa, Ontario, 377,643; Ford Dearborn, Mich., 370,713; Hyundai Montgomery, Ala., 361,348; and Kia West Point, Ga., 358,520. Toyota Georgetown, Honda Marysville and Honda Alliston all rebounded from production cuts in 2011 resulting from the earthquake in Japan.

Kia West Point, No. 10, continued to climb up the rankings, from No. 21 in 2011 and No. 33 in 2010.
