Opel previews potential Fiat 500c rival with Adam Rocks concept

Opel/Vauxhall's Adam Rocks concept may preview a potential rival to the Fiat 500c convertible.
The concept will be unveiled at the Geneva auto show on March 5. It has SUV styling with a raised ride height and a fold-back fabric sunroof that Opel describes as "cabrio-style."
Opel wouldn't comment on whether the crossover elements or the fabric sunroof would make production. It calls the three-door, 3700mm concept an "urban mini-crossover study."
Adam Rocks is based on Opel's Adam hatchback minicar, which went into production at the automaker's plant in Eisenach, Germany, in January. The Adam is a key product for Opel as the brand seeks to reverse losses and declining sales in Europe.

The Adam has joined the expanding minicar segment as car buyers in Europe's austerity-hit markets increasingly downsize to smaller, fuel-efficient vehicles. Opel says the Adam has been well received in the market and the company has received more than 20,000 customer orders for the car.
