The new issue of the Automotive News Europe monthly e-magazine goes live on Monday, March. 4. Our cover story examines Sergio Marchionne's multi-billion-euro bet that he can turn Alfa Romeo and Maserati into global sales powerhouses. Analysts are skeptical about the Fiat-Chrysler CEO's plan because they doubt the company has enough cash to revive the under-performing sporty brands and take full control of Chrysler Group.

The world's eyes will be on the Geneva auto show starting next week. The French will use the event to showcase small SUVs that are forecast to be top-sellers in Europe starting next year. The Renault Captur and Peugeot 2008 will have a lot of competition in the niche from rivals such as Ford, Opel/Vauxhall, Fiat and Volkswagen. We look at what to expect from this fast-growing niche.

PSA/Peugeot-Citroen is about to start using its new EMP2 megaplatform, a move that it says will reduce complexity, slash car weights and save money. We provide details on EMP2 and look at the other automakers using -- or planning to use -- megaplatforms to gain a competitive edge.

Starting Monday, the e-magazine will be available to read on our Web site at www.autonewseurope.com, as well as on our iPhone and iPad apps. You can also download the magazine to your computer, tablet and phone as a PDF.

Enjoy!
