Renault names former PSA exec Wertans as global sales boss
RENNES, France -- Renault named Nicolas Wertans, PSA/Peugeot-Citroen's former head of international sales, as senior vice president of global sales, effective March 1.
Wertans, 45, will join Renault's management committee, reporting to Jerome Stoll, chief performance officer and executive vice president of sales and marketing.
Wertans began his automotive career in 1994 at Ford of Europe where he held various sales and marketing positions in France, the UK, and Germany until becoming managing director of Ford in Switzerland.
In 2005, he joined BMW in Munich as vice president of corporate and direct sales and later headed BMW in France.
In 2009, Wertans joined PSA as head of international sales, with responsibility for developing brand sales and marketing strategies at Peugeot and Citroen. During his time at PSA, he held a series of senior management positions, the last of which was vice president of PSA's Asian operations, prior to leaving the company in 2011.
Wertans will head global sales for both private and fleet customers.
In 2010, Wertans founded MAG, a retail car company with operations in Germany and France.
Wertans holds an engineering degree from Paris-based Supelec and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
