Audi boosts output of A3, Q5 models in Germany
Demand for models including Audi's best-selling A3 range has led to extra shifts.
FRANKFURT (Reuters) -- Audi has added 33 shifts at its German plants in January and February, citing strong demand for the A3 compact and Q5 SUV, among other models.
"For the coming months, we anticipate ongoing good utilization of capacity and additional shifts at our two domestic plants in Germany,” Chief Production Officer Frank Dreves said in a statement on Monday.
Audi said that it had already arranged 23 additional shifts in January and February at its plants in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm and planned an additional 10 shifts later this month.
The automaker said strong demand for the A3, Q5, A6, A7 and R8 models had led to full order books and the need to boost output.Contact Automotive News
