Turkish auto sales fall 8% in August

ISTANBUL (Reuters) -- Turkish auto sales fell 8 percent in August to 60,199, the Automotive Distributors' Association (ODD) said today.

In the first eight months, deliveries dropped 22 percent to 406,967, the association said.

The ODD expects annual sales of between 675,000 and 725,000 in the market this year, after earlier forecasting that volume would reach 800,000 to 860,000 vehicles in 2014.

Last year, deliveries in the market rose 10 percent year-on-year to 853,378 vehicles.
