BMW boosts the 'X-ness' of baby SUV

Although taller than its predecessor, the new BMW X1 is more aerodynamic, with a drag coefficient reduced to 0.28 from 0.32.

When BMW engineers started work on the second-generation of the smallest SUV in the brand’s family they were determined to make the X1 look, feel and perform more like its bigger siblings. Executives who took part in the X1’s launch in Austria and Germany last month referred to this intangible characteristic as the vehicle’s “X-ness.”
