EV, plug-in hybrid, fuel-cell sales rose 10% in Europe

Plug-in hybrids such as the Mitsubishi Outlander were the biggest sellers among green powertrains last year.

Sales of electric, plug-in hybrid and fuel-cell cars rose 9.7 percent to a combined 206,584 vehicles in 2016 in the EU and EFTA markets, according to data published by industry body ACEA on Wednesday.
