    2017 Lincoln MKZ

    The new Lincoln MKZ, scheduled to go on sale next summer, will introduce a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 engine that's exclusive to Lincoln and rated at 400 hp when paired with all-wheel drive. That's 100 hp more than the most powerful engine on the current MKZ, which is Lincoln's highest-volume nameplate.     The Huracan LP 580-2, shown at the 2015 Los Angeles auto show, uses the same naturally aspirated, 5.2-liter, V-10 engine as its all-wheel-drive awd counterparts.     Volkswagen Golf GTE Sport

    The swoopy coupe could indicate one direction VW is considering for the boxy Golf hatchback. VW says it “blurs the lines” between motorsports vehicles and road cars. Power is generated by a 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine and two electric motors, one in the front of the car and one in the rear. Total horsepower is 395 and 494 foot-pounds of torque. VW says the car can accelerate to 60 mph in about 4 seconds, hit a top speed of 174 mph and, when driven on the European test cycle, delivers 118 mpg.     Like all Denali models, the new Canyon Denali is distinguished with a unique chrome grille and wheels - 20-inch ultra-bright-machined aluminum wheels with painted accents.     The Sierra Denali Ultimate is offered only on four-wheel drive 1500 crew cab models with either a 5-foot, 8-inch or 6-foot, 6-inch cargo bed. It is distinguished with 22-inch wheels with chrome or black insert, a standard sunroof, chrome tow hooks and standard technologies, including Tri-Mode Power Steps, which move rearward to serve as a step into the cargo bed.     Volkswagen Beetle Dune

    VW has dangled Beetle Dune concepts before but promises the latest version will be built starting next year in coupe and convertible models. The 2016 Beetle Dune gets new and tougher looking front and rear fascias and black wheel arch extensions. The Dune, powered by a 180-hp 1.8-liter gasoline turbo four-cylinder, also get a few chassis changes. The track -- the width between the wheels -- is 0.6 inches wider and the ride height has been increased 0.4 of an inch over the standard Beetle. Go to the Gallery »

    2017 Ford Escape

    Ford Motor Co. is making substantial changes to the Escape crossover next year, giving the exterior a more rugged, upscale look and adding technology from more expensive vehicles. The 2017 Escape, due out in late spring, gets a redesigned interior and two new four-cylinder EcoBoost engines, both of which come packaged with stop-start to improve fuel efficiency. The changes and a planned increase in supplies could help the Escape narrow the sales gap with the top-selling crossover, Honda’s CR-V, which leads the No. 2 Escape by fewer than 31,000 vehicles through October.     Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night

    The SRT Night is equipped with black gloss paint on the roof, rear spoiler, front grille bezels, B- and C-pillars and side window surround. The front appliqué and badges are in satin black. Lightweight split five-spoke 5Ten 20-inch wheels are also in black, while the Brembo calipers remain standard red. Exterior color choices include velvet red, billet silver and granite crystal.
