An Ontario judge has approved a settlement worth up to $290.5 million with about 20,000 owners of 3.0-litre VW, Audi and Porsche diesel vehicles in Canada affected by Volkswagen AG's diesel emissions-cheating scandal.
Audi will begin integrating toll payment technology into its vehicles in the U.S. this year that will let drivers pay tolls without needing an additional device. While the technology works on some Canadian roads, it's not available there.
U.S. and California regulators say they have approved a fix for about 38,000 Volkswagen Group 3.0-litre diesel crossovers in the United States. VW Canada is attempting to get the same fix approved in Canada.
