SEAT MAY delay its public launch of the Toledo replacement. It had been planned for the 1998 Geneva show, but that is now undertain. It will be presented before the autumn 1998 Paris auto show.
The new Seat will have two body styles: sedan and hatchback. It is based on the VW Golf that will be introduced at September's Frankfurt show. Both new cars are expected to include many standard safety features.
Reliability has been improved, with service intervals increased to 30,000km. Both cars will be built in a VW plant in Belgium.
Not yet approved, but on Seat designer's tables, is a two-door coupe body for the car.
