Automotive News and Automotive News Europe have cancelled plans to produce a magazine for an international federation of automotive engineering societies.
Philosophical differences that surfaced with the federation, the London-based FISITA, led to the demise of Automotive Global Quarterly shortly before the first issue was set to be printed, said Peter Brown, associate publisher and executive editor of Automotive News Europe.
'We reluctantly concluded that those philosophical differences would prevent us from producing an interesting, useful magazine,' Brown said.
'Automotive News and Automotive News Europe are committed to providing our readers with important news and information that is of use to them in their professional lives. That's our reason for being.
'Automotive News and Automotive News Europe, with more than 40 staff reporters and editors worldwide, remain committed to the best coverage of the world's automotive industry. We will continue to expand our global reach.'
