GENEVA - Ford plans to make its Escort replacement the hero of the Geneva auto show this week.
Spy photos have shown a radically restyled car under far more camouflage than is usual. Automotive operations boss Jacques Nasser has personally insisted on a complete curtain of secrecy until he reveals the name at a press event Monday, 2 March, at the Espace Secheron in Geneva.
The Escort has competition. Other makers are showing new versions of their volume leaders:
BMW 3 series
Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph
In addition, Toyota will name the supermini to be built in France, Mitsubishi will show its new Spacestar compact minivan, and Renault will show its radical three-seat concept car Zo.
