V-shape for Sirion
DAIHATSU HAS chosen a V-shaped crush design for its new Sirion. The front frame is designed to bend groundwards into a V shape during a frontal collision. This causes the engine mounting on the center of the V to pull the engine and transmission unit downwards, so that it does not intrude into the passenger space. Power comes from a new three-cylinder, 12-valve, 1.0-liter engine.
