VIENNA- Juergen Stockmar, who quit as head of General Motors' Technical Development Center in Germany last year, will join Magna International as vice president for r&d.
Stockmar left GM after clashing with GM International Operations President Louis Hughes.
Stockmar said he will work for Magna in Europe and Canada.
Before joining GM, Stockmar was vice president of Steyr-Daimler-Puch, the Austrian firm that Magna is in the process of buying.
Stockmar left Steyr twice, once to become head of r&d at Audi AG, and again in 1994 for the GM job.
