OSLO - Revenues among Norwegian importers and distributors increased 7 percent in 1997, but profits fell by 1 percent. It was the fourth straight year that average sales rose and profits fell, according to the annual survey by the publication Bilnytt.
Harald A. Moller A/S, Norway's largest importer, made a profit of NKr 232 million ($43.2 million) on sales of NKr 5.5 billion. Moller handles Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda. Bertel O. Steen A/S, which imports Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot, Daihatsu and Kia, declared a profit of NKr 216 million on sales of NKr 4.0 billion.
