IF ROBERT EATON wants to address the SaimlerChrysler AG stockholders next year, he may have to learn German.
Deutsche Bank will have about 10 percent of the DaimlerChrysler stock, and its chairman, Hilmar Kopper, has no doubt about the nationality of the new company.
'Whoever wants to speak here will have to speak German,' said Kopper, who is on the Daimler-Benz supervisory board. 'We are and will remain a German AG. Of course there will simultaneous translations via headphones.
Juergen Schrempp, who will be co-chairman with Chrysler's Robert Eaton, also made clear where the power will be. 'The business location and the headquarters will be Stuttgart,' he told stockholders. 'There will be a second headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan.'
