LONDON - Bundy, a subsidiary of TI Group, is supplying brake and fuel assemblies to Rolls-Royce's new Bentley Arnage. Bundy has supplied previous Bentley models with single brake and fuel tubing.
LONDON - Thompson Chassis, a division of UPF, will supply fully welded chassis frames for Land Rover's new Discovery, which will go on sale later this year. Thompson Chassis already supplies the current Discovery, the GM Frontera, Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph and several commercial vehicles.
The chassis will be produced at Thompson Chassis' Wolverhampton, UK, facility.
LANDSKRONA, Sweden - Volkswagen four-wheel-drive models based on the A (Golf) platform, including the new Golf Syncro, will use a limited-slip coupling supplied by Haldex Traction AB. VW has placed an order for the system worth about $130 million over the next five to six years, depending on four-wheel-drive sales. Swedish-based Haldex Traction is a subsidiary of Haldex Group.
The Siemens Automation and Drives Group will supply manufacturing and testing facilities for final assembly operations at VW/Audi's new Curitiba, Brazil, plant. The contract is worth over DM100 million ($55 million). Curitiba will produce the VW Golf and Audi A3. Siemens will also provide automation systems worth DM45 million for Audi's AL2, which will be built at Neckarsulm, Germany. The new car will go on sale starting in spring 2000.
