BIRMINGHAM, UK - UK auto industry association SMMT will use the Birmingham auto show in October to step up its campaign to improve the competitiveness and profitability of UK-based suppliers and carmakers.
Leading UK auto industry figures will speak at a series of SMMT Industry Forum meetings at the Birmingham show. They include Ian Gibson, chief executive of Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd., C.K. Chow, chief executive of GKN plc., and John Neill, chief executive of Unipart Group.
The Industry Forum has set up programs in which companies collaborate to improve quality, cost and delivery performance and to cut waste in the supply chain.
