Friends, who tell us the only way to rapidly cut the cost of a component is to immediately increas e its production. Mercedes-Benz does not have the volume on its own, so the part has to be sold to other manufacturers as well. This helps our costs, but at the price of progressively decreasing the number of months during which we enjoy exclusive supply. With DaimlerChrysler this will soon be over.
