Mark Catterall has been named managing editor of Automotive News Europe.
Catterall, 34, joins from leading European publisher EMAP, where he was editor-in-chief of auto industry titles Fleet News, Fleet Car, and a contract publishing division. He had previously built up extensive experience at auto business magazines in the UK as editor of Automotive Management, news editor of Carweek, and acting editor of Motor Trader.
Even before entering journalism, he was connected with the auto industry. After school in Oxford and university in Sussex, Catterall spent a year in Barcelona teaching English to executives at the Seat and Valeo plants.
In recent years, he has won awards for UK Motor Industry Journalist of the Year and Business Journalist of the Year.
