Geoff Lawson, who died last month, helped make Jaguar great again. He led the design teams which created the XJ8, the XK8 sports car and the new S-type sedan.
He created gorgeous cars that reflected the company's history, but fit perfectly in the present.
His personality, happy and outgoing, was expressed in his work. But Geoff was also a deceptively deep thinker with a sense of mission. When he died he was in the process of exploring new Jaguar design themes. Not just with the baby Jaguar, the X400, but by creating a team with a blank sheet of paper to conceptualize Jaguar cars of the future.
He would have succeeded, of course.
Geoff Lawson is gone, but they'll talk about the man and his work for a long time.
