NISSAN - Colin Dodge has been promoted to deputy managing director at Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd.'s plant in Sunderland, England. He was previously executive director of operations. Dodge was one of Nissan's first employees at Sunderland, joining as paintshop manager in 1984. He became production manager of the trim and final assembly and inspection department in 1986, and was appointed general manager two years later. He was made production director in January 1993.
As deputy managing director at Sunderland, Dodge has full responsibility for the plant's day-to-day-activities in all key areas of production.
TENNECO AUTOMOTIVE - Richard Sloan has been appointed executive vice president and managing director at Tenneco Automotive Europe. He will be based at the company's European headquarters in Brussels.
Prior to joining Tenneco, Sloan held a number of senior management positions in the automotive industry. He spent 18 years at United Technologies Automotive, where he became president of its interior systems international division. He has also worked for the former Chrysler Corp.
In his new role, Sloan will run Tenneco Automotive Europe's engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing and distribution divisions, both for original equipment and aftermarket operations. He will report to President and Chief Executive Mark Frissora.
RIETER - Swiss supplier Rieter Automotive Systems has reorganized its business activities with the aim of improving customer service and boosting operating results.
Christian Duhay takes charge of Business Group Europe South (customers: Fiat, PSA/Peugeot- Citroen, Renault and truck manufacturers). Gerhard Rabus becomes head of Business Group Europe North (customers: VW, DaimlerChrysler, BMW/Rover, GM, Ford and Japanese manufacturers). Lars Larsson takes responsibility for Business Group Americas (customers: GM, Ford and Chrysler). All three report to Chief Executive Matti Paasila. The appointments were effective January 1.
HONDA - Mark Davies, 38, has been appointed general manager, car division at Honda (UK). He was previously head of car sales.
Davies joined Honda 10 years ago from Peugeot Talbot. He held various sales management positions before being made head of marketing within Honda (UK)'s car division. In May 1997 he became head of sales operations, with responsibility for the sales performance and profitability of Honda's UK dealer network.
