LONDON - A New Zealand surfing champion lets the Audi A6 quattro take him for a ride in the multi-media, pan-European campaign breaking for Audi through BBH Unlimited. The television and print advertisements took nine days to film at Bethell's beach on the west coast of New Zealand. The campaign features an Audi A6 with surfing champion Gavin Broadbent in tow, performing spectacular stunts, flips and jumps. Audi says no trick photography was involved. The point, of course, is that performing stunts at 40kph in shallow water is an ideal way to show off the car's four-wheel-drive system. A natural soundtrack of rhythmic, lapping waves reinforces the natural feel of the television commercial. The quattro system, Audi's four-wheel-drive technology, is now in its 20th year of production.
