Lamborghini production levels continue to climb steadily.
The Italian luxury sports car maker said it expects to build 300 units this year. It made 265 units in 1999, and 231 units the previous year.
The revamped Diablo 6.0 made its European debut at the Geneva auto show. It will account for about 200 units this year. A final lot of 20 Roadsters will be built for the USA only.
The revamped Diablo 6.0 is only being offered as a coupe, and only with permanent four-wheel drive.
Lamborghini will also build 65 units of the sportier GT this year. That car has a total planned closed run of 80 units. In addition, The company will make 20-30 units of the racing-only GTR.
Lamborghini's new V-12 powered car, code named L147, is now expected to arrive in late 2001. The new small Lamborghini, the V-10-powered L140 project, will appear in 2003. Its arrival will coincide with the company's 40th anniversary.
