Continuing the restructuring of its executive ranks, Nissan North America Inc. has announced several key management changes.
James Morton Jr. has been named senior vice president of finance and administration, overseeing Nissan's North American finance, human resources, business strategy, corporate communications, information systems and audit operations. He will report to Norio Matsumura, Nissan Motor Co. executive vice president for overseas operations. Morton is a 24-year veteran of Michelin North America, where he once worked with Nissan Motor President Carlos Ghosn in communications, legal and government affairs posts.
Jack Collins has been named vice president of marketing and product planning for Nissan North America. His post will put him at the level of Nissan Division General Manager Bill Kirrane and Infiniti Division General Manager Tom Orbe, whose responsibilities will now directly involve sales. Collings will oversee marketing, advertising, product planning and positioning decisions for the North American marketing and their integration into Nissan's global image plan. Collings will report to senior vice president Jed Connelly. Working alsongside Collins will be Takeo Kitamura, vice president of marketing services.
At Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp., Katsumi Ishii has been named President and CEO, replacing Yoichiro Nagashima, who has been reassigned to Japan. Ishii was vice president of finance and CFO of Nissan North America. Taking Ishii's spot is Akira Hasenaka, now deputy general manager if finance.
