FORD - Peter Heller has been named to the new position of vice president, quality, for Ford of Europe. Previously director of manufacturing, plant group number two, vehicle operations, Heller reports directly to Ford of Europe President David Thursfield. He also becomes a member of Ford's European operating committee.
Heller has held a number of positions in Ford's German manufacturing operations.
In further Ford moves, Hans Schardt has been made director, European vehicle operations, with responsibility for all vehicle operations plants in Europe. He was formerly director of manufacturing, plant group number one, vehicle operations. John Crew, currently director of manufacturing, B-car strategy, will take responsibility for body and assembly operations in Southampton, England.
RMI - Alan Hines has been appointed as the new chief executive of the UK's Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI).
Hines, 53, comes from a strong transport industry background. He was previously managing director of Securicor Vehicle Management, the A256.5 million revenue transport arm of the Securicor Group. He is credited with the turnaround of its fleet operations and with the creation of its contract hire and fuel management business.
DELPHI - Carlo Beccuti, 57, has been named director of Delphi Italy in addition to his current function as director of Fiat customer relations at Delphi. He replaces Carlo Mantellini, who will remain chairman of Delphi Italy. Beccuti is a member of the Delphi Europe strategy board, reporting to Jose Maria Alapont, president of Delphi Automotive Systems Europe and vice president of Delphi Automotive Systems. Prior to joining Delphi, Beccuti spent 17 years at Fiat SpA in various managerial, financial and operational areas.
RENAULT - Renault Italia has appointed Daniele Schillaci as its new sales and marketing director to replace Roberto Pallotta. Schillaci was previously sales director for Belgium and Luxemburg. Pallotta has moved to Japan to head up Renault Japon, a wholly owned subsidiary that will be the exclusive importer of Renault vehicles in Japan.
NAVIGATION TECHNOLOGIES - Navigation Technologies Corp, a developer of digital map information for navigation systems, has named Judson Green president and chief executive officer.
Green, 47, was chairman of Walt Disney Attractions, the theme parks and resorts segment of the Walt Disney Co. Green joined Disney in 1981. He served as chief financial officer of the Walt Disney Co. before being named president of Walt Disney Attractions in 1991, and chairman in 1998.
