BMW, having now rid itself of Rover, has been criticized for its failure to promote the marque. There is no shortage of evidence to support that opinion.
Quite clearly, BMW's famous ill-timed attack on its 'patient' did Rover untold harm during the launch of the 75 model.
But equally, the consistent advertising promotions, both on television and in the press, pushing home the advantages of BMW's rear-wheel-drive over front-wheel-drive dynamics, could hardly have helped matters.
Not exactly an act of brotherly love there!
