Visteon: Will expand its air conditioner compressor plant in Szekesfehervar, Hungary. Investment of $90 million.
Weslin: The joint venture between two Canadian companies, Linamar Corp. and Wescast Industries, will develop an integrated casting and machining plant in Oroszlany in western Hungary. The plant will make cast iron exhaust manifolds and related iron castings.
Investment of $130 million.
Musashi Seimitsu: Plans to make axles, cog wheels and suspension systems in Ercsi, near Budapest, Hungary. Investment of $20 million.
Taiho Kogyo: Toyota subsidiary is setting up a plant to produce parts for air conditioners in Ujhartyan, near Budapest. Investment of $10-20 million.
Valeo: Will build an electrical parts plant in Veszprem in western Hungary. Investment of $15.4 million.
Mitsubishi Electric: Plans a new plant 30km northwest of Prague in the Czech Republic. Investment of $32 million.
TRW: Will construct a brake system factory in the Gliwice special economic zone in Poland. Investment of $7 million.
Faurecia: Will complete a seating components plant in Walbrzuch, Poland, in April 2002. Investment of $30 million.
Wabco (Westinghouse Air Brake Co): Will establish a plant in Wroclaw, Poland, for brake systems for heavy trucks and buses. Investment of $30 million.
