Filtration specialist Mann+Hummel has purchased the Oil Conditioning Systems (OCS) activities of US supplier Federal-Mogul.
The acquisition extends Mann+Hummel into the area of oil filters and oil conditioning. Terms were not disclosed.
OCS employs 73 workers at its UK plant in Ilminster, Somerset. Its portfolio includes 45 different products, primarily for diesel engines. OCS has annual sales of about $15 million.
The OCS work force and the production program will in the future be managed through Mann+Hummel (UK) Ltd, Wolverhampton.
Based in Ludwigsburg, Germany, the Mann +Hummel group is organized into two divisions, automotive and industrial. The automotive division manufactures components ranging from air, oil, fuel and cabin filters, to oil modules, fluid reservoirs, air cleaners, composite intake manifolds, manifold modules and complete induction systems.
Mann+Hummel has 7,800 employees at 27 manufacturing and sales locations worldwide. It had 1999 sales of about $1.2 billion.
