Jaguar unveiled its new X-type sedan last week. The new car was designed by the late Geoff Lawson and completed by his successor Ian Callum. The all-wheel-drive sedan is Jaguar's smallest car and gives the Ford-controlled British manufacturer a four-car lineup. Jaguar aspires to compete as a full-line manufacturer with German luxury rivals BMW and Mercedes-Benz. X-type should eventually help double Jaguar's annual worldwide sales volume to 200,000 units.
