PSA/Peugeot-Citroen is showing strong growth and healthy profits, although it has remained isolated from the auto industry's merger mania. Are you surprised?
Not at all. When we announced our cooperation with Nissan, I said this was an opportunity for Renault. It was not a necessity for our growth. At that time I was convinced Renault could have been growing and prospering alone, so I'm not surprised by PSA's success.
After the controlling stake in Nissan, Renault also bought Dacia of Romania and Samsung of South Korea. Are you planning to buy anything else?
No, because adding Dacia and Samsung to Renault took us close to the limit of our management capabilities. It doesn't make sense to buy something else if you do not have enough management resources to turn it around.
