Mazda's 3-market focus
Mazda CEO Mark Fields sees potential in central and eastern Europe, but says Mazda will focus on its primary markets of Japan, the USA and western Europe.
'We have had some good growth driven by our distributor Mazda Austria, which is responsible for [central and eastern Europe],' Fields said.
Central and eastern Europe are secondary markets for Mazda, but Fields didn't rule out making an effort in either region. Fields said: 'In eastern Europe in particular there are some important markets. But the question is: Can we make money in those markets?'

Tokyo security questioned
Several Americans commented on the lack of strict security. One reporter who arrived without credentials at 8: 30am on the first press day for a 9: 00 interview was told that no press credentials could be issued until the show opened at 9: 00. Frustrated by the bureaucracy, he and several colleagues walked onto the show floor unchallenged and wandered the show floor all day without passes. He eventually picked up his credentials on his way out at 4: 00pm.
