BREMEN, Germany - Exel Logistics won the Grand Prix award at the second annual Automotive News Europe Logistics Awards here on October 30.
Exel has a major presence in Europe and operates 33 offices on five continents. It is an existing supplier to DaimlerChrysler, Nissan, VW and Toyota. This year Exel added BMW, Ford, GM, Jaguar and Aston Martin following the acquisition of FX Coughlin. It won 16 retail contracts in the first six months of this year, including Land Rover, and was also awarded significant contracts in the USA.
Last year Exel won the award for inbound logistics. This year, that honor was taken by TNT.
Other category winners were AutoLogic (outbound logistics, for the second year running), Hodlmayr International (technology innovation) and Danzas (globalization).
