As a performer in the music industry. I play acoustic and electric guitar. Alternatively Id like to manufacture powerboats.

I used to. But they are not suitable for where I live in Germany.
How do you relax?
Playing the guitar, reading, and I play golf when I get the chance.

Task oriented and pretty demanding of people.
How has your management style changed over the years?
As you become more senior in an organization, you have to rely on your team. As a consequence, the emphasis is less about personal motivation and more about how you motivate the team.

What are you good at?
At a personal level, do-it-yourself projects, cooking, playing guitar. At a professional level I think Im a good communicator.
What was the most fun you had in the past year?
Spending Christmas with my whole family including my 18-month-old grandson.
What kind of holidays do you like?
Im a sun person and I enjoy going fishing.
Whats your most treasured possession?
My B.B. King Lucille guitar. Its a collectors piece. Lucille was Kings trademark guitar.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Buying an Aston Martin Vantage in 2006.
What kind of music do you listen to?
James Taylor, Emmylou Harris and Mark Knopfler.
What figure from history would you like to have dinner with?
Bill Shankly, one of the greatest soccer managers ever and the manager of Liverpool football club from the late 1950s until the mid-1970s. He was responsible for building Liverpool into one of the most successful clubs in the world.
What is your greatest professional achievement to date?
Leading the team that won the 2007 European Car of the Year Award with the S-Max, the 2007 International Van of the Year with the Transit, and the 2006 World Rally Championship for manufacturers.

At the moment Im listening to a new CD by Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris called All the Roadrunning.
What do you like to read?
Fiction and non-fiction. At the moment Im reading The J Curve: A New Way to Understand Why Nations Rise and Fall by Ian Bremmer.
