Bentley Motors Inc.'s North American unit won't fill the CEO position that was vacated nearly eight months ago. But it is appointing two men to run operations in North America.
Christophe Georges, 40, (pictured right) has been named COO, working in parent company Volkswagen's North American headquarters in Auburn Hills, Mich. A native of France, Georges is managing director for Bentley in Europe, stationed in Berlin. He has been working in various positions at Bentley in Europe for nine years and previously worked in sales operations at Rover Europe.
Geoff Dowding, 47, (pictured left) will add the title of vice president of Bentley Motors Inc. He already is worldwide operations director and will continue to work at Bentley worldwide headquarters in the United Kingdom.
Neither executive has worked in the United States.
Former CEO Andrew Stuart left Bentley in mid-January to become COO of the Ron Tonkin Family of dealerships in Portland, Ore.
A spokesman said the CEO position wasn't needed because Bentley restructured in May so that all of its national operations report to Dowding.
