Christian Bleiel, 45, became Volkswagen Motor Polskas managing director on January 1. He succeeded Andreas Klinge, 50, who will get an executive position at VW brands component division.
Klinge was head of VW Polska in Polkowice, Poland, for five years. Bleiel had been head of production at the VW plant in Salzgitter, Germany, since 2004 and was responsible for about 3,000 workers.
The graduate engineer has worked for VW group since 1990 in several divisions within production. Polkowice is VWs largest-volume production plant for its new 2.0-liter common-rail diesel.
