MUNICH -- Audi A5 Sportback prices will start at 36,050 euros in Germany with an entry-level model coming next year.
European sales of the four-door car start soon after the model's public debut at the Frankfurt auto show in September.
Audi says the A5 Sportback is designed to be as "emotional and elegant as a coupe, as comfortable as a sedan, and as practical as an Avant."
The car offers 480 liters of cargo capacity rising to 980 liters when the rear seats are folded down.
The Audi A5 Sportback will be offered with 170hp, 2.0-liter, 190hp 2.7-liter and 240hp 3.0-liter V6 diesel engines and 211hp 2.0-liter and 265hp 3.2-liter V6 gasoline engines.
The 2.0-liter manual version also will offer start-stop and energy recuperation technology to boost fuel economy.
