PEBBLE BEACH, California -- Spyker Cars, a Dutch producer of hand-built sports cars, introduced a softtop version of its C8 Aileron coupe here Saturday at the Concours dElegance auto show.
The Aileron Spyder is built on an aluminum spaceframe chassis and powered by Audis 4.2-liter V-8 engine with 400hp. The Spyder will go into production in the first half of 2010.
The price has not been established, but a company representative said the car would retail for about $280,000 in the United States. The coupe version of the Aileron, unveiled earlier this year at the Geneva auto show, starts at 189,990 euros in Europe and $259,000 in the United States.
